
Backpacking 201: Sequoia National Park
Embark on an unforgettable backpacking adventure through the majestic Sequoia National Park over Memorial Day weekend! This challenging, strenuous trek is designed for seasoned hikers looking to push their limits and experience the raw beauty of towering mountains, rugged terrain, and high-altitude vistas. Join us for an exhilarating outdoor experience with Los Angeles Air Force Base, where our (2) outdoor recreation guides will lead you up steep ascents, remote trails, and to a camping experience under the stars in one of California’s iconic landscapes.
Only well-conditioned and prepared adventurers should apply and fill out an application request. Get ready to test your endurance and make lasting memories in the wild! Experience is required.

- Day 1
- We will drive from LA AFB to camp near the trailhead of our backpacking excursion.
- Day 2-3
- We will backpack to Franklin Lake in Mineral Kings (~6 miles and 2700 ft of elevation gain)
- Day 3
- We will hike back to the trailhead and shuttle to LA AFB
