The Child Development Center (CDC), located on the base in El Segundo, opened its doors to the Los Angeles AFB Community in November 2004. This state of the art facility boasts a contemporary and spacious environment that is applauded by base leadership, employees, and customers. It’s program is certified annually by the Department of Defense and is currently accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the national organization which identifies child care programs of high quality that offer developmentally appropriate care in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.
Full Day Care Program
The CDC offers full-day childcare to 6 week to 5-year-old children of military and DoD civilian families. Goal of the CDC is to provide a safe environment, enriching experiences and attentive care for children at an affordable price. Fees are charged on a fee scale based on total family income and guidance from the Department of Defense. Reservations for hourly care can be made on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the center the morning that childcare is desired.
USDA Food Program
The CDC participates in the USDA Food Program, which provides nutritious meals and snacks at no additional cost. The institution is an equal opportunity provider.
