Backpacking 101: Yosemite
The mountains are calling, and we must go… to backpack the south rim of Yosemite National Park! We will stay in the valley night one at backpacker’s campground near the Merced River. Day 2/3 participants will be guided along a trail taking us to the south rim of Yosemite Valley for a 4-mile hike with 1200 ft of elevation gain. Expect a challenging hike while carrying a 40 lb. backpack to get to our back-country site. Day 3/3 we will hike back to our vehicles and depart back to Los Angles Air Force Base.

Cost: RecOn — $90/person (Active Duty AF/SF, dependent and 1 guest)
General Admission: $250/person
Includes: Transportation, backcountry reservations, camp/trail food, and backpacking equipment is included
Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older
Difficulty: Strenuous

- Day 2-3
- Participants will be guided along a trail taking us to the south rim of Yosemite Valley for a 4-mile hike with 1200 ft of elevation gain.
