Asian Pacific Heritage Month

Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month

Learn about Asian and Pacific Islander history and traditions through special activities and guest speakers.

History of Asian Pacific Heritage Month

Asian Pacific Heritage Month, celebrated in May, is a time to honor and recognition of the rich cultural contributions, achievements, and histories of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in the United States. It serves as a reminder of the diverse tapestry of cultures that have shaped the nation’s identity and continues to enrich its social fabric. During this month, we learn about highlights, significant roles and enduring legacies of Asian and Pacific Islander communities in shaping the country’s history, economy, arts, sciences, and much more. It’s a time for reflection, celebration, and appreciation of the immense contributions these communities have made and continue to make to the United States and beyond.
